CHATECH’S CODE CAMP IS FOR RISING
8TH-12TH GRADE STUDENTS
Now in our sixth year, this code camp is a unique experience for students to work with information technology (IT) professionals in a business environment. Dedicated facilitators coded and developed a curriculum from scratch that takes a dive into artificial intelligence. In the past, our campers have programmed a virtual robot to navigate mazes to find the exit, with the mazes getting progressively harder as they solved each one. The mazes were also littered with traps, so these students programmed their bots to sense danger and navigate over, around, or through it!
No matter your child’s coding skill level, this camp teaches your young coder the basics of variables, functions, commands, and conditional logic.
With the help of your donations, this camp is free to attend each year. Temporary-use laptops and all the necessary learning materials for students are provided on-site during the week. On the last day, presentations are presented by each team. The campers will demonstrate how the code isn’t all about the commands on the screen, but also problem-solving and teamwork. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the presentation.
100% of your donation will go toward creating new opportunities for the next generation of tech talent in Chattanooga.

My son has not stopped talking about what he has learned this week, and is still modifying his robot to get through the more complex mazes. He is genuinely upset that the week is over. Honestly, I don’t know how any other camp or summer program could hold a candle to this past week. |
This was my first visit to Code Camp and it completely blew me away. Kids that are exposed to programs of this caliber get a taste of professional in the form of team collaboration, success and failure. These lessons can only assist in positively shaping their future. |
